A gyűjtemény a Columbia Egyetem Magyarországról szóló kutatási projektje (CURPH) kertében 1957-1958 között készült, 358 digitalizált iratanyagból álló válogatás, beleértve a magyar felnőtt és gyerek menekültekkel készült angol nyelvű interjúk átiratait, valamint a kapcsolódó dokumentációt. A Ford Alapítvány által finanszírozott CURPH projekt középpontjában a háború utáni magyarországi társadalmi, gazdasági és politikai trendek álltak, 1956-ig bezárólag. A Blinken gyűjtemény néven is ismert anyag Donald és Vera Blinken, az Egyesült Államok egykori magyarországi nagykövete és felesége nagylelkű támogatásának köszönhetően digitalizálva, online is elérhető. A Columbia Egyetem Bakhmeteff Levéltárának könyvritkaság- és kézirattárában rendelkezésre álló projektdokumentáció szerint több mint 600 interjút vettek fel szakképzett, magyarul beszélő terepmunkások az európai és az amerikai menekülttáborokban, illetve közvélemény-kutatók vezető amerikai egyetemeken. A Columbián kidolgozott módszer szerint az alanyokkal egyenként két-három napig tartó, irányított kérdéseken alapuló mélyinterjúk készültek. Az interjúk magyar nyelvűek, egyesek angol nyelvű átirata megtalálható a gyűjteményben, csakúgy, mint az útmutató az interjúkhoz. A projektben kétfajta interjú készült. A kérdések a mindennapi életre, az életszínvonalra és a munkakörülményekre, az ideológiai indoktrinációra, valamint a társadalmi, kulturális és értékrendváltozásokra vonatkoztak. A projekt példa nélküli abban a tekintetben, hogy az 50-es években semmilyen más kutatás nem gyűjtött össze ennyi anyagot a szovjet blokkról. A gyűjtemény egyharmada az Egyesült Államokban felvett „A” típusú", hosszabb interjúkból áll, amelyek a válaszadókat szabadon beszéltetve a társadalmi hátterüket, attitűdjüket, az 1956-os forradalomban játszott szerepüket és véleményüket vizsgálták. A fennmaradó kétharmad a rövidebb, "B” típusú interjúkból áll, amelyek Európa főbb menekültközpontjaiban készültek Párizsban, Bécsben, Londonban, Rómában és Feldafingben (Münchentől délnyugatra). Ezekben az interjúkban kérdőívek segítségével gyűjtöttek részletesebb információt a válaszadóktól. A Ford Alapítvány által finanszírozott CURPH projekt középpontjában a háború utáni magyarországi társadalmi, gazdasági és politikai trendek álltak, 1956-ig bezárólag. A Blinken gyűjtemény néven is ismert anyag Donald és Vera Blinken, az Egyesült Államok egykori magyarországi nagykövete és felesége nagylelkű támogatásának köszönhetően digitalizálva, online is elérhető. A Columbia Egyetem Bakhmeteff Levéltárának könyvritkaság- és kézirattárában rendelkezésre álló projektdokumentáció szerint több mint 600 interjút vettek fel szakképzett, magyarul beszélő terepmunkások az európai és az amerikai menekülttáborokban, illetve közvélemény-kutatók vezető amerikai egyetemeken. A Columbián kidolgozott módszer szerint az alanyokkal egyenként két-három napig tartó, irányított kérdéseken alapuló mélyinterjúk készültek. Az interjúk magyar nyelvűek, egyesek angol nyelvű átirata megtalálható a gyűjteményben, csakúgy, mint az útmutató az interjúkhoz. A projektben kétfajta interjú készült. A kérdések a mindennapi életre, az életszínvonalra és a munkakörülményekre, az ideológiai indoktrinációra, valamint a társadalmi, kulturális és értékrendváltozásokra vonatkoztak. A projekt példa nélküli abban a tekintetben, hogy az 50-es években semmilyen más kutatás nem gyűjtött össze ennyi anyagot a szovjet blokkról. A gyűjtemény egyharmada az Egyesült Államokban felvett „A” típusú", hosszabb interjúkból áll, amelyek a válaszadókat szabadon beszéltetve a társadalmi hátterüket, attitűdjüket, az 1956-os forradalomban játszott szerepüket és véleményüket vizsgálták. A fennmaradó kétharmad a rövidebb, "B” típusú interjúkból áll, amelyek Európa főbb menekültközpontjaiban készültek Párizsban, Bécsben, Londonban, Rómában és Feldafingben (Münchentől délnyugatra). Ezekben az interjúkban kérdőívek segítségével gyűjtöttek részletesebb információt a válaszadóktól. A Blinken gyűjtemény néven is ismert anyag Donald és Vera Blinken, az Egyesült Államok egykori magyarországi nagykövete és felesége nagylelkű támogatásának köszönhetően digitalizálva, online is elérhető. A Columbia Egyetem Bakhmeteff Levéltárának könyvritkaság- és kézirattárában rendelkezésre álló projektdokumentáció szerint több mint 600 interjút vettek fel szakképzett, magyarul beszélő terepmunkások az európai és az amerikai menekülttáborokban, illetve közvélemény-kutatók vezető amerikai egyetemeken. A Columbián kidolgozott módszer szerint az alanyokkal egyenként két-három napig tartó, irányított kérdéseken alapuló mélyinterjúk készültek. Az interjúk magyar nyelvűek, egyesek angol nyelvű átirata megtalálható a gyűjteményben, csakúgy, mint az útmutató az interjúkhoz. A projektben kétfajta interjú készült. A kérdések a mindennapi életre, az életszínvonalra és a munkakörülményekre, az ideológiai indoktrinációra, valamint a társadalmi, kulturális és értékrendváltozásokra vonatkoztak. A projekt példa nélküli abban a tekintetben, hogy az 50-es években semmilyen más kutatás nem gyűjtött össze ennyi anyagot a szovjet blokkról. A gyűjtemény egyharmada az Egyesült Államokban felvett „A” típusú", hosszabb interjúkból áll, amelyek a válaszadókat szabadon beszéltetve a társadalmi hátterüket, attitűdjüket, az 1956-os forradalomban játszott szerepüket és véleményüket vizsgálták. A fennmaradó kétharmad a rövidebb, "B” típusú interjúkból áll, amelyek Európa főbb menekültközpontjaiban készültek Párizsban, Bécsben, Londonban, Rómában és Feldafingben (Münchentől délnyugatra). A gyűjtemény a Columbia Egyetem Magyarországról szóló kutatási projektje (CURPH) kertében 1957-1958 között készült, 358 digitalizált iratanyagból álló válogatás, beleértve a magyar felnőtt és gyerek menekültekkel készült angol nyelvű interjúk átiratait, valamint a kapcsolódó dokumentációt. A Ford Alapítvány által finanszírozott CURPH projekt középpontjában a háború utáni magyarországi társadalmi, gazdasági és politikai trendek álltak, 1956-ig bezárólag. A Blinken gyűjtemény néven is ismert anyag Donald és Vera Blinken, az Egyesült Államok egykori magyarországi nagykövete és felesége nagylelkű támogatásának köszönhetően digitalizálva, online is elérhető. A Columbia Egyetem Bakhmeteff Levéltárának könyvritkaság- és kézirattárában rendelkezésre álló projektdokumentáció szerint több mint 600 interjút vettek fel szakképzett, magyarul beszélő terepmunkások az európai és az amerikai menekülttáborokban, illetve közvélemény-kutatók vezető amerikai egyetemeken. A Columbián kidolgozott módszer szerint az alanyokkal egyenként két-három napig tartó, irányított kérdéseken alapuló mélyinterjúk készültek. Az interjúk magyar nyelvűek, egyesek angol nyelvű átirata megtalálható a gyűjteményben, csakúgy, mint az útmutató az interjúkhoz. A projektben kétfajta interjú készült. A kérdések a mindennapi életre, az életszínvonalra és a munkakörülményekre, az ideológiai indoktrinációra, valamint a társadalmi, kulturális és értékrendváltozásokra vonatkoztak. A projekt példa nélküli abban a tekintetben, hogy az 50-es években semmilyen más kutatás nem gyűjtött össze ennyi anyagot a szovjet blokkról. A gyűjtemény egyharmada az Egyesült Államokban felvett „A” típusú", hosszabb interjúkból áll, amelyek a válaszadókat szabadon beszéltetve a társadalmi hátterüket, attitűdjüket, az 1956-os forradalomban játszott szerepüket és véleményüket vizsgálták. A fennmaradó kétharmad a rövidebb, "B” típusú interjúkból áll, amelyek Európa főbb menekültközpontjaiban készültek Párizsban, Bécsben, Londonban, Rómában és Feldafingben (Münchentől délnyugatra). Ezekben az interjúkban kérdőívek segítségével gyűjtöttek részletesebb információt a válaszadóktól. Az interjú-átiratokat általában kiegészítették a válaszadókra vonatkozó személyes adatokkal (életkor, nem, iskolai végzettség, foglalkozás, stb.) és egyéb adminisztratív információkkal az interjúfolyamatról vagy a válaszadó megbízhatóságáról. Adatvédelmi okokból az adatokat eredetileg elkülönítették az átiratoktól, de az OSA, ahol ez lehetséges volt, egyesítette a válaszadókra vonatkozó információt az interjú-átirattal, megőrizve az egyének anonimitását.

A Blinken gyűjtemény néven is ismert anyag Donald és Vera Blinken, az Egyesült Államok egykori magyarországi nagykövete és felesége nagylelkű támogatásának köszönhetően digitalizálva, online is elérhető. A Columbia Egyetem Bakhmeteff Levéltárának könyvritkaság- és kézirattárában rendelkezésre álló projektdokumentáció szerint több mint 600 interjút vettek fel szakképzett, magyarul beszélő terepmunkások az európai és az amerikai menekülttáborokban, illetve közvélemény-kutatók vezető amerikai egyetemeken. A Columbián kidolgozott módszer szerint az alanyokkal egyenként két-három napig tartó, irányított kérdéseken alapuló mélyinterjúk készültek. Az interjúk magyar nyelvűek, egyesek angol nyelvű átirata megtalálható a gyűjteményben, csakúgy, mint az útmutató az interjúkhoz. A projektben kétfajta interjú készült. A kérdések a mindennapi életre, az életszínvonalra és a munkakörülményekre, az ideológiai indoktrinációra, valamint a társadalmi, kulturális és értékrendváltozásokra vonatkoztak. A projekt példa nélküli abban a tekintetben, hogy az 50-es években semmilyen más kutatás nem gyűjtött össze ennyi anyagot a szovjet blokkról. A gyűjtemény egyharmada az Egyesült Államokban felvett „A” típusú", hosszabb interjúkból áll, amelyek a válaszadókat szabadon beszéltetve a társadalmi hátterüket, attitűdjüket, az 1956-os forradalomban játszott szerepüket és véleményüket vizsgálták.
